2013 Thailand Interactive Itinerary

Day 1: Flight to Thailand
Your trip begins with a regularly scheduled overnight flight to Bangkok aboard an internationally recognized airline.


Day 2: Arrival in Bangkok
Welcome to Thailand! A Go Ahead representative greets you at the airport after you clear customs and then accompanies you via private motorcoach to your Bangkok hotel and assists with hotel check-in. Included meals: breakfast (in flight)

Day 3: Bangkok
This morning, your Tour Director leads a sightseeing tour of Bangkok featuring the Grand Palace, Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Po), and Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Timitr Temple). In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of Bangkok’s klongs, and canals, on a speedboat and converted rice barge. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Dinner with fellow Group Coordinators. Included meals: breakfast, dinner

Day 4: Floating Market & Convention Meeting
Discover the unique and fascinating culture of Thailand today, as you experience the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Here, locals sell exquisite produce, like Malacca grapes, Chinese grapefruits, mangoes, bananas and coconuts—all from their small boats. Then journey west to Kanchanaburi, home to the River Kwai and its infamous bridge, and Nakorn Pathom, the largest pagoda in southeast Asia. This afternoon’s convention meeting is designed with Group Coordinators’ questions, experience and interests in mind. Begin with a keynote address by senior members of Go Ahead Tours, followed by an insider’s view of our company and tours. You’ll also get a chance to discuss tour planning and recruiting with other Group Coordinators. Finally, you’ll get an overview of the world of benefits available to you as a Go Ahead Group Coordinator. Lunch is included during the convention workshop and later enjoy a group
dinner. Included meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner


Day 5: Transfer to Phitsanuloke
Journey to Ayuthaya, Thailand’s capital from 1350 to 1767. Here, you’ll tour the ruins, decorated with beautiful images of the Buddha draped in saffron robes, just like living monks. Continue on to Uthai Thani to visit the beautiful Wat Chantaram Temple. Enjoy an included lunch before transferring to Phitsanuloke, a regional commercial center along the banks of the Nan River. Then, visit the much-venerated shrine of Wat Mahathat , which is home to Thailand’s most beautiful Buddha image.  Later, join your fellow travelers at an included group dinner. For a night you won’t forget, tonight enjoy our exciting Rickshaw Ride and Phitsanuloke Night Market. Day 6: Phitsanuloke & Chiang Mai
This morning, travel from Phitsanuloke to Chiang Mai. Enjoy the stunning scenery as you journey up the winding road of Doi Suthep Mountain where you’ll climb 290 steps to visit the hilltop temple of Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. On a clear day there are incomparable views over the city of Chiang Mai from the temple grounds. (Alternatively there is a cable car up to the hill!) Afterwards, visit Wat Suan Dok where you will have the unique opportunity to learn about Buddhism from one of the resident monks at the Mahachulalongkorn Rajavdiyalaya, Buddhist University. Arrive at Chiang Mai in time for an included dinner.  Included meals: breakfast, dinner


Day 7: Elephant Camp & Orchid Farm
Spend the morning at Chiang Dao Elephant Camp. Watch the elephants take their morning bath and demonstrate their amazing skills for you. After your elephant ride, take a bamboo raft trip down the Ping River and admire the scenery and absorb the tranquility (weather permitting). This afternoon,
come face-to-pistil with some of the world’s loveliest orchids at the Orchid Farm, a center of cultivation and development for both heirloom and new orchid flowers. Later this afternoon, let all your tension melt away with an optional Thai massage. This evening, enjoy a Khantoke Dinner, a traditional experience like no other. You’ll sit on floor mats at low-top tables while food is served in large platters. Relax and enjoy your meal as you are entertained by a variety of cultural performers

Day 8: Chiang Mai & Bangkok
Today, you will be accompanied to Chiang Mai’s airport where you will board a flight to Bangkok. On arrival in Bangkok, you will be transferred to the hotel and enjoy a Farewell Dinner with your fellow travelers.  Included meals: breakfast, dinner
